Terms and Conditions

1. Concepts
Babysitting Madeira: Company that develops its activity in the provision of child care services to Clients, services provided by babysitters.
Client: Person/entity that intends to purchase and contract the services provided by Babysitting Madeira
Babysitter: Person who provides child care services to customers, under the conditions previously defined in the service provision contract
Babysitting: Service provided to the Client, at home, hotel or festive activity, sporadically. Service can be hired for any time of the day, any day of the week.
Service provision contract: Agreement signed between the Client and Babysitting Madeira, which sets out the rights and duties of both parts.

2. Target Audience
– Our service is primarily aimed at children aged between 6 months and 12 years old. Contextually, and always according to the needs of the requested services, we will naturally respond to requests where there are children outside of this age group.

3. Responsibilities of Babysitting Madeira
– Select babysitters to provide childcare services;
– Evaluate the compatibility of the babysitters’ profile with the profile intended by the Clients;
– Confirm and guarantee the qualifications, abilities, references and experience of the babysitters in order to proceed with their selection for the services to be provided, guaranteeing a high standard of quality and professionalism in the services provided, and for this purpose, collecting all the information they deem necessary;
– Remunerating babysitters for the services provided to Clients.

4. Client Responsibility
– Provide the necessary conditions for the function of the babysitter’s duties;
– Ensure that you provide all the information necessary to provide the service and that it is true and correct;
– Respect the babysitter, treat her as a qualified professional
and engage in dialogue whenever necessary;
– Comply with the schedules previously agreed with Babysitting Madeira;
– Do not assign functions to babysitters that were not previously agreed with Babysitting Madeira;
– Arrange directly with Babysitting Madeira the schedules for providing services (as well as changes to them if they arise) and never directly with the babysitter;
– Payments must be made up to 12 hours before the service, through MB Way or by bank transfer with the respective receipt;
– Make the babysitter and Babysitting Madeira aware of the basic house rules (e.g., What children can/cannot do) as well as any behavioural, physical, psychological or mental event that concerns the minor and that it is important to disclose for the provision of Babysitting Madeira services;
– Notify Babysitting Madeira of any claim or complaint regarding the babysitter’s performance in providing the service, within a maximum period of 5 (five) days from the date of occurrence;
– Be aware and understand of all the content of these “Terms and Conditions”, committing to comply with them;
– Communicate, when requesting the service, to Babysitting Madeira the need to administer medication, if applicable;
– Transmit to the babysitter, in the case of medication administration (oral only), all the necessary instructions for taking them;
– Sign the medication sheet, if applicable;
– Sign the term of responsibility for trips abroad if it is necessary for the babysitter to leave the home with the child.

5. Babysitter’s responsibility
– Provide all the information required by Babysitting Madeira, ensuring that all information provided is true and correct;
– Not arrange services and/or schedules directly with Clients or receive payments from them, except in case of need for additional hours;
– Carefully read the guidelines sent by Babysitting Madeira;
– Have personal accident and civil liability insurance;
– Record, on the official service sheet, the hours of service provided to Clients;
– Develop Babysitting Madeira activity with Clients in compliance with these general conditions and what else is agreed with it.

6. Conditions and fees for services:
– The minimum charge per service is 3 hours;
– The price of services provided at events should be consulted directly with Babysitting Madeira.

6.1. Babysitting
– Babysitting services must be paid for in advance for the service, in one of the available payment methods, according to the previously agreed number of hours;
– Payment for services must be made directly to Babysitting Madeira.
– The requested service is only confirmed after receipt of proof of payment and anamnesis form. This must be paid up to 48 hours before the start of the service. In the case of service requests within a period of less than 48 hours from the start of the service, proof of payment must be sent no later than 4 hours after confirmation of availability by Babysitting Madeira. In case of non-compliance, the service is automatically cancelled;
– Any additional babysitting service will be charged in increments of 15 minutes, with a tolerance of 5 minutes in each increment;
– In case the client enjoys (by personal choice) a shorter service time than the contracted one, the amount will not be refunded or put on credit.

6.1.1. Cancellation of services
– For reasons beyond our control, Babysitting Madeira reserves the right to cancel the babysitting service. In this case, justification will be presented to the Client and the amount paid will be refunded within a maximum period of 24 hours;
– Cancellations communicated up to 24 hours before the start of the service, in which a justification is presented that Babysitting Madeira deems appropriate, will allow the Client to use the amount paid to schedule a new service of the same nature;
– The cancellation of the service by the Client, communicated less than 24 hours in advance of its start time, will carry the charge of 50% of the amount paid.

7. Changes to the “Terms and Conditions”.
– Babysitting Madeira reserves the right to change its present “Terms and Conditions” without prior notice. However, whenever there is a change, the version number and date will be updated. Therefore, we recommend that you regularly consult our “Terms and Conditions”.
